Hope everyone had a fantastic week! I know you must be tired of hearing me say mine was hectic, BUT I did  just manage to get this 5 Things I Love post out on time. So hooray for small victories! This week, I've rounded up another item from Free People's gift shop (which is altogether gorgeous if you ask me) and a particularly stylish decor DIY. Read on below!

5 Things I Love: 07/11/17

Tuesday 7 November 2017
Friday Favorites: 07/11/17
Photos from Free People and A Pair & A Spare.

Anyone else already transitioning into Winter prep? Life has been so hectic lately that I was late on the deadline for this post, so this is technically a Saturday Favorites. Oh well, Ces't la vie!

I had a hard time deciding which items to feature on this list. It seems the most adorable collections come out just before Winter. Luckily, I'm working on a few shopping guides and wish lists to be published this month so I won't have to pare down my favorites! Enjoy this taste of cute things to come.

Cleobella: Transcend | Jackie O My

I recently discovered a brand whose photos were so gorgeous, I couldn't choose just one lookbook to feature. That's why this week, I'll be sharing part one of a special two-part Brand Love. The brand is Cleobella, and the first feature is their hauntingly beautiful Fall 2017 lookbook, Transcend.

Simple Ways To Practice Minimalism

Friday 6 October 2017
Minimal Plant

Although I'm far from a minimalist, I've always been curious about the minimalist lifestyle. It sounds so wonderfully freeing to be able to live with less; some are even able to fit all their possessions in a few boxes! I remain a collector at heart, though, and let's be real: there's no way I'm fitting all my clothes in a couple of suitcases.

Brand Love: SIR The Label

Brand Love: SIR The Label | Jackie O My

For today's brand love, I'm featuring gorgeous Australian contemporary brand SIR The Label.

Sir is all about taking cues from the simplicity of classic styles; their clothing is understated, minimal, clean, and forever feminine. As they say on their site, "the collections draw inspiration from musings past and present to create fashions that reflect the now, but are forever wearable."

The Last Days Of Summer

Monday 25 September 2017
The Last Days Of Summer

The first days of Autumn are upon us, but I couldn't let Summer slip past without one more outfit post. As excited as I am for Fall, I'm going to miss the easy days of just throwing on a pair of denim shorts. I'm a lazy girl at heart, so denim shorts are pretty much my Summer wardrobe (besides comfy dresses, of course).

Faithful The Brand: Shades Of Summer

Wednesday 13 September 2017
Faithful The Brand: Shades Of Summer

I mentioned in my last Five Things I Love post that I was looking for one more taste of summer. This week's featured brand is exactly what I had in mind.

Faithful The Brand is an Australian clothing collection designed by the duo of Aussie Sarah-Jane Abrahams and Norwegian Helle-Them Enger. Inspired by the modern traveler, Faithful's pieces are three things above all else: luxurious, versatile and easy.

The Jetset Diaries: Canyon

The Jetset Diaries: Canyon

Autumn is my favorite season for style; there's nothing like comfy jeans, over-sized sweaters, and shades of burgundy and wine. The Jetset Diaries has just released Canyon, their Fall 2017 collection, and I am swooning over the billowy layers and rich earth tones.

Brand Love: Chasing Unicorns

Friday 18 August 2017
Brand Love: Chasing Unicorns

I discovered Chasing Unicorns recently, and although their aesthetic pulled me in, their philosophy is what made me fall in love. A bit of their story:

"Chasing Unicorns grew from a life long love of vintage, a decade of global roaming, and the desire to create beautiful, timeless, quality pieces that are made to last. We adore the idea of lasting fashion as opposed to ephemeral trends and have endeavoured to give each piece a special hand-finish that will make the wearer want to treasure it forever. These are clothes intended to be passed on from mother to daughter, from one sibling to the next and then on to your children's children. Standing the test of time, just like the beautiful vintage they are inspired from."

You Are Beautiful

Friday 21 July 2017

Remember My Pale Skin's inspirational video about the unrealistic standard of beauty? It is one of my all time favorite videos on YouTube, and it continues to move me every time I watch it. I watch it when I feel insecure, and am reminded of two great truths about beauty. The first is that there is a huge double standard when it comes to appearance; if you're deemed unattractive, it's like a fatal fault in your character, one that is your responsibility to fix for the benefit of others. If you're attractive, however, you're perceived as fake and conceited.

The second truth is that every woman, no matter how beautiful, thin, or popular, is subjected to this same harsh criticism. There really is no winning. There seems to be an entire world of people out there that want you to feel bad about yourself. These people want you to feel inferior and insecure. The nasty comments on your Instagram pictures are not coming from a place of truth, but rather from the hope of hurting you as much as possible simply because they can. As if your appearance has anything to do with your right to feel happiness.

Bohemian In Lilac

Monday 26 June 2017
Bohemian In Lilac

Another week is in full swing! Did anyone else feel like the weekend wasn't quite long enough? Today I'm back with another outfit post featuring a flowy dress I've just added to my wardrobe.

I fell in love with this dress when I visited one of my favorite local shops, Montrose & George. It's made by PS The Label, which I hadn't previously heard of, but they make some beautiful pieces. The material is so soft, almost silky, and I love the lilac color. I paired it with my trusty wedge heels and vegan leather bucket bag for an understated, casual look, keeping with that boho vibe. I kept my hair in loose waves to play up the carefree, effortless aspect.

A Blue Midi Dress

Blue Midi Dress Summer Outfit

It's late Spring in Canada. The days have been getting longer, and I'm just about ready to tuck my jeans away for the summer. Time to slip into one of my favorite dresses and talk about my goals for June.

The Art Of Becoming Unbusy

Thursday 18 May 2017
Flowers in bike basket

For the past several months, my to-do list has been packed. I jot down a nightly list of everything I "need" to do the next day, including eating right, getting some exercise, practicing the piano, writing either a blog post or creatively for practice, journaling, meditating, posting on my social media accounts, reading from the giant stack of books that's collected next to my bed, practicing painting, doing yoga, and running any extra errands I may have. On top of that, I've been working on three different "challenges" simultaneously: a blog post challenge, a happiness challenge, and a self-improvement challenge. All of this has left me very little time unwind, and even relaxing has started to feel like just another item to check off a list. No wonder I've been so stressed!

Sugarhigh Lovestoned: Aloha State Of Mind

Tuesday 16 May 2017
Sugarhigh Lovestoned Lookbook: Aloha State Of Mind

The other day, I discovered Sugarhigh Lovestoned, and absolutely fell in love. I featured one of their tees on my last Five Things I Love post. I just had to share their lookbook for Summer 2017, Aloha State Of Mind.
I love the bohemian, vintage Hawaii theme of this shoot. The color tones and candid poses are fantastic. I honestly want to buy everything! I could even imagine rocking the super retro terracotta pants.

A Little White Tea House

Monday 15 May 2017
Little White Tea House

Last week I had the pleasure of stopping by Little White House & Co., a lovely tea shop located downtown, for the first time.

I've walked past the little white house countless times in the past, and have always been curious about it; its pretty white french doors are always propped open, and inside I catch glimpses of smiling people dining on high tea and sandwiches. Chiffon dresses with price tags hang on mannequins in the shop windows. It has always perplexed me; is it a store, or a restaurant? Charmingly, it's both.

Hello May

Thursday 4 May 2017

Hello out there! I hope the first week of May has been as good for you as it has been for me.
I've been especially busy this past month. Aside from blogging and general life, I've been preoccupied with my new puppy. I adopted an adorable Chihuahua last week, and so far, he's been keeping me exhausted and happy.

Despite my hectic schedule, I have a list of goals to accomplish for May. I find it really helpful to set new goals at the beginning of each month. I'm constantly making lists and notes on my phone of things I want or need to do. I've decided that at the beginning of each month, I will share my goals on Jackie O My! Goals are so much more enjoyable when you share them! I'd love to hear yours in the comments as well.

Why It's Okay To Be Upset Over Little Things

Monday 24 April 2017
Why It's Okay To Be Upset Over Little Things

For the past week, I've been stuck in a bad mood rut. Usually, I breeze right by minor setbacks, taking them in stride. Now, they're hitting me hard, leaving me grumpy and unsure what I'm even so upset about. I'm a big believer in the power of positivity, so I figured I could just will my bad feelings away, or at least squash them down until they disappeared on their own. Unfortunately, bad feelings will come out, no matter how hard you try to hold them in, and sometimes at inconvenient times.

Spring Tulips

Monday 17 April 2017
Spring Tulips Outfit 1

Hello, and happy Monday! I hope your Easter weekend was as relaxing and stress-free as mine.

I've been loving the change from winter to spring. The sun has been peeking through the clouds more and more, and I've been spending my time taking long walks in the grass and happily reading good books at Starbucks.

It's so refreshing to finally shed my winter boots and jacket for sandals and pastel colors. I just bought this sweater from Aerie, and I believe it's my new favorite. The material is so soft! Try as I did, I couldn't get the words on the front, "Hello Sunshine", to show up in these pictures. Still, it perfectly captures my frame of mind today. Bring on the sun!

Rainy Days and Blush Jumpers

Monday 20 March 2017
Rainy Days and Blush Jumpers Outfit

It's official! Spring is finally here. In my mind, the words conjure up images of fresh blooms and plenty of rainy days that keep me bundled up and leave dew all over. Of course, in Canada, the emphasis is on the word rain.
